Thomas Christopher Kelly

Following a long illness, Thomas C Kelly of Seattle passed away on August 9, 2012 at the age of 77.

Please join his family and friends in celebrating his life on Saturday, August 25th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Columbia Funeral Home.

Son of Thomas and Kathleen, Thomas was born April 18,1935 in Castlebar, Ireland.

Tom as he was called was educated in the Ireland school system. After completing his education in Ireland, Tom came to United States in 1958 to work in the Catholic Church.

His parents, sisters Mary, Bernadette and his brother Sean preceded Thomas in death.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife of ten years Betty, daughter Kathy and son Kevin (Lee), stepdaughters Penny and Rena (Tofu), step grand children, Jaylah, Jonathon, Dorian, Don and step great grandson Don IV.

Thomas proudly displayed his plaques that recognized him for his outstanding service as president of Kiwanis cub of Issaquah from 1974-75, and the Kiwanis club of Bellevue, WA, from 1990-1991.

After retiring from Health Team Northwest as a purchasing coordinator, Thomas and Betty were able to fulfill their dreams of traveling to many places; Hawaii, Paris, London, Ireland, Bahamas, Canada and Mexico and various parts of the United States. Thomas also enjoyed many activities. His favorites were doing crossword puzzles, cooking and reading. Whenever he came upon an unsolved crossword puzzle, it was very hard for Thomas not to solve and complete it, which was a challenge he just loved. Cooking was something he loved and enjoyed doing. He was always looking for new recipes to try out. Where- ever he traveled he always found a book of recipes to collected.

Thomas was an avid reader; his favorite magazine was the Times, which he loved to see what was happening in the political world. He loved political debate with anyone who could keep up with him.

He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
