It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother on February 5, 2013 at age 92. In spite of continuing illness, she kept a positive attitude spending her last days living independently at home. Born in Seattle on May 22, 1920, Grace married Ray Johnson in 1937. Together they raised a loving family enjoying many years together until she was widowed in 1979. She loved traveling, especially to Hawaii, where she married Joe Cyr in 1988. Home, family, friends and her cat were her greatest pleasures. She had the unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and part of the family. She always prepared delicious meals, making her home the place everyone wanted to be. When she was young, she loved to bowl. For the past 30+ years, playing Bridge weekly with a dear group of friends has been her favorite pastime.
Grandma Gracie was a devoted mother and grandmother and was especially proud to become a great-great grandmother. She lived a long and happy life and made those near her happy as well.
Grace is survived by her children: Janis Lyver, Jerie Vukelic (Rudy), Rocky Johnson, Jody Curry (Greg). Grandchildren: Randy (Camille), Gregg, Rod, Joel (Melissa), Ryan, Nick, Michele, Gina and Denise. Great Grandchildren: Shawn, Stacy (Bryce), Max and Lucas. Great-Great Grandchildren: Millie and Whitney. Sister: Bev Alia.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013, 2:00 p.m., The Normandy Park Cove, 1500 SW Shorebrook Drive, Normandy Park, WA 98166
