My memories of Governor Rosellini include being in the winner's circle at Longacres in the early 80's. The races were named in honor for Governor Rosellini. I still have those pictures. I also saw him occasionally at a on 4th Avenue called Andy's Diner with his son John. I knew John because I worked at the King County Courthouse for many years. Whenever I met Mr Rosellini I was so impressed with his strong handshake and completely sincere manner. It was a pleasure to know him in this small way. He will be remembered by many !

So sorry for your loss and the loss of a great man. My grandmother, Ida Johanson, was a cook for Albert's father, regularly cooking for large gatherings. He insisted on sending a car around to take my grandmother home and she would always manage to slip out the back door beforehand!

My own father was campaign mgr. (Eastern Washington) for Al Rosellini's first run for governor in 1952. I remember him being in my home when I was a boy. Condolences.

Dear Rosellini Family,

My father, Paul Herbold, was a speech writer and representative for your father in the 1960's and he loved your dad! I knew Sue and Lynn at William Winlock Miller. One year, the doorbell rang and there stood your dad with a big Christmas present that he handed to my astonished parents --said he always liked to deliver his gifts himself! My parents are gone now but I want you to know that I have the treasure that was in that box --a set of glasses with the Washington State seal and your father's name on them. I cherish them.

My friend Terry Jackson and I took your father out for lunch a couple of times. Terry's mother Nori was friends with your father when they were growing up in "Garlic Gulch". Nori, 100% Italian, married a Norwegian as did your dad! It's amazing how connected we human beings are; just imagine Terry's and my surprise when we discovered we shared a connection to your father!

I will be at St. James and I will be wearing a red rose to honor and remember your father..

God bless you, Governor Rosellini and thank you for your friendship, your kindness, and all that you did for the citizens of the State of Washington. Peace be with you always as you walk among the angels.

Thank you,

Linda Herbold Stoulil

I had the privilege of working for Gov Al in the mid 80's. He was a mentor, a friend, a confidant and advisor. I learned some important life lessons from him and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to have known him personally.

My prayers and thoughts are with the Rosellini family.

You went into office the year I was born. ( Fort Lawton ) I remember beautiful schools that had enough equipment and great teachers. The classes actually had a microscope per student! Thank-you for taking education seriously.
