Jeffrey Applequist

Jeffrey Applequist passed away at Valley Medical Center of meningitis on April 7, 2015. Jeff was born May 16, 1973 to Martha (Marty) Applequist of Issaquah, WA and Linden Applequist of Portland, OR. He grew up in Bellevue and attended Woodridge Elementary, Chinook Mid, Bellevue High, The Overlake School, and Bellevue Community College. He spent the rest of his life living in Seattle and the Eastside while working as a painting/construction contractor. Also, he worked for some years on Trident Seafoods' ship, Island Enterprise, as part of the engineering crew.

Jeff is survived by his parents; his sister Lauren Applewood of Kirkland; his uncle Jeffrey Taylor (Terry) of MI; aunt Carter Taylor of Tacoma; uncle Timothy Taylor (Becky) of FL; and, four cousins and their families. He was predeceased by his uncle Dale Applequist and both sets of grandparents.

Jeff will be remembered for his easy-going charm, smile, his wit, and loving heart. He had a sweet and gentle spirit and was able to touch the hearts of many people. He loved to travel; to surf in Santa Cruz, CA; he drove to Baja Mexico and across the USA in his VW Bus; and, he travelled to Japan. Jeff had good times skiing, hiking, camping, and surfing. He especially liked vacations in Destin, FL with his aunt, uncle, and cousins Mike and Chris. Jeff took guitar lessons when young and went on to write, play and record his music, which gave him much pleasure, as did attending live music events with friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Bellevue, at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 8, 2015. Reception to follow service. Burial will be in Destin, FL in August. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jeff's memory may be made to Sundown M Ranch, P.O. Box 217 Selah, WA 98942. Jeff's family welcomes friends to sign the online Guestbook.
