Marianne E (Lockett) Munro

Marianne passed peacefully to heaven on January 8th 2016 at the age of 80.  Born on August 3rd, 1935 in San Francisco, CA to Elizabeth & William Lockett, she is survived by her twin sister Patricia May.  Marianne grew up in Seattle and spent much of her life in the Hillman City / Lakewood communities making many lifelong friends at Franklin High School.  After graduation she worked as a secretary before marrying James D Munro with whom she shared 51 wonderful years raising 4 daughters; Cindy Becker, Sally McIntyre, Carolyn Swett & Sheri Harrington.  She is also the proud grandmother of 7 grandchildren.  A devoted mother, she passed on her love of the arts, outdoors and gardening to her daughters & touched many lives as a Girl Scout Leader and St Edward school/church volunteer.  Marianne cherished her peaceful cabin retreat on Whidbey Island that she & Jim lovingly crafted.  There will be a viewing Friday January 15th, 2:00-5:00 at Columbia Funeral Home, 4567 Rainier Ave S, Seattle.  Funeral services will be held Saturday January 16th, 11am at Holyrood Cemetery Chapel, 205 NE 205th St, Shoreline.
