"There is a sacredness in tears. They are not a mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition and of unspeakable love." Washington Irving

When I met you, you were a man, Mario, you would come up to Seattle and stay with Billy Gerald or Corey Sellgren, he had this infectious laugh, that you could hear all over the disco, it was 1977, and we would go to the best disco in town, The Monastery, and dance all night long. I loved him so much, we all would get all gussied up, and go out to the disco, I will forever miss you Honey, I love you Maribel! <3

Dear
I saw that one of your family members has passed. I thought it would be nice if I left you with a comforting scripture. One of my favorite is Revelation 21:4, which says, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Another scripture that I really like is Isaiah 33:24, and I would recommend reading it. I know that God will comfort you in this difficult time and I hope you can find comfort in his words.

Sincerely,
Avery

What an incredible human being - the loss is palpable. But, the Spirit is now untethered and free - and I am so happy for you, amiga.
What an imprint you have left on this world.
I am proud to have known you and been friends for decades. So many great memories.
My sincerest condolences to your beautiful family.

My heartfelt condolences to Maribel's family and friends. From our chicano movement days in the 70s in the Valley, to all of her work and dedication to la causa throughout the years, I always respected Maribel's strength and courage. Always la luchadora! Although I wish we could have seen each other more often than we did, I was always so happy to stay connected with her at least via facebook. I will miss your laughter, friendship and even your fb regañadas, mujer!! You will truly be missed! Rest in love and peace, my friend! <3
