Michael David Massengale

Michael D. Massengale age 61 passed away peacefully due to health issues on August 1, 2017 at home in Seattle, WA.  He is survived by his beloved wife Sandra Barrientes-Massengale, his children Amber Klunk, Michael Massey, Justin Lennon, Ashley Monnich and Garbriela Massenage, his step-son Santos Recio, his grandchildren Brad Smith, Cole Smith and Natalie Massengale, his siblings Kathy White, Candice Faegen, James Massengale, and Nadine Hunkapiller, his father George William (Bill) Massengale, step-mother Pearline Massengale and his fur babies, Papi and Chloe Massengale. 

Michael proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1974 to 1986 as an Aircraft Firefighting and Rescue Specialist, SSGT.  After his service in the military, Michael held many jobs as a Fire Captain/Fire Mechanic on Kwajalein Marshall Islands and as a Diesel Mechanic.  Michael most recently was employed as a Transit Mechanic for King County Metro. 

Michael loved his family and his work.  Even through his recently diagnosed illness, he did not give up on life.  He will be missed and loved always.

Services will be held at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery on August 25, 2017 at 10:00 am.   

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 26, 2017 at a private residence from 3:00pm- 9:00pm.
