Ruben F. Foronda

Ruben F. Foronda, born October 20, 1942 to Sancho and Faustina in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines passed peacefully at home, November 27, 2016 after being diagnosed with cancer in February, 2016.

He was predeceased by his wife Norma and survived by his children, Ruben Jr. (Jenn), Brenda Campbell (Andy) and Christopher; grandchildren Marcelus, Cole, Ava, Roan and Grayson; and 3 of his 7 siblings Susan, Elena, and Remedios.

Retired from Gais’s Bakery as a baker after 27 years he enjoyed the next 17 years of retirement.  In the early part of his retirement he helped to watch his grandchildren.  He was a loving father and grandfather.

He was an active member and supporter of the Son’s and Daughter’s of Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, The Filipino Community Center and the International Drop In Center (IDIC). 

He enjoyed walking daily at Southcenter Mall before the stores opened.  He loved to sing karaoke, dance, play cards and bingo at the community center and IDIC and go on daytrips to Portland, Vancouver BC and eastern Washington with his friends. He also enjoyed going to the area Casinos and Emerald Downs.

 Viewing 2:00-7:00pm and Rosary at 6:00pm, Wed, December 14, 2016 both at the Columbia Funeral Home. Funeral Mass, 10:00am, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at St. Edward Parish. Interment at Calvary Cemetery immediately following.
