Somphanh Phavong

Somphanh Phavong, age 102, passed away on May 10, 2017, 10:35 AM at Valley Medical Center. He was born in Laos on April 04, 1915 and immigrated to Seattle, Washington in October of 1979 with his family.

Somphanh is preceded in death by his wife, Khamboth Phavong and survived by his loving children Boonlieng Phavong, Keokhaykham Phavong, Khonesavanh Phavong and Bounson Phavong. Along with many of his beloved grandchildren who reside in the Seattle area.

He helped raise each of his grandchildren and enjoyed walking all over Seattle area recycling aluminum cans and to tend to his gardens. He was recognized by the Laotian community as a respected elder and grandfather to everyone. He spent his surviving years frequently travelling to Laos to visit family and friends. During his lifetime he was admired for his hard work, energy, dedication and support.
