November 12, 2017

Ronald Edward Scarvie, 76, of Seattle, Washington, passed away peacefully from MSA, a rare neurological disease, on November 12, 2017.

Ron is survived by his wife Geri of 22 years, daughter Tiffany, son Taylor, sister Susan and extended family. Ron was a loving father, husband and friend to all.

Ron was born in Seattle, to Francis and Signe Scarvie. He went to Franklin High School and graduated from Central Washington University in Ellensburg with a Master's degree in biology. He taught biology before becoming a teacher's union representative and lead negotiator for the Washington Education Association. He enjoyed his work and was known widely for his negotiating skills.

He loved baseball and started coaching right after college. His knowledge and passion for the sport was passed on to his children and he was always their biggest fan. He also enjoyed gardening and growing amazing dahlias with his sidekick, his shih tzu, Moe.

He was deeply loved and will be missed forever.

At his request, there will be no service. Memorial donation may be made to The Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) Coalition, 9935-D Rea Road, #212, Charlotte, NC 28277. Toll Free Support Hotline: (866) 737-5999. https://www.multiplesystematrophy.org/
