His parents moved to Chicago during the Great Migration. Albert attended Henry Horner School, DoLittle , and Phillips High School where he attended along with Nat King Cole.

Our uncle Albert was such an important part of our family. He was an employee at the White Sox Ballpark as a Grounds Keeper, Walgreens Sales Representative,  Mail Carrier for the Chicago Postal Service, Chicago Housing Authority Maintenance Man, and Laborer at General Foods. Albert, was an ambitious entrepreneur of CDs and DVDs, clothing, and he sold  peanuts.  Albert was a lover of Jazz and he   played the flugelhorn. He  admired such artists  as Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderly, and Chuck Mangione. He loved the Chicago Cubs and White Socks. Our uncle was also an important part of the Chicago Renaissance.

Albert is proceeded in death by his mother, father, sisters Annie May Spivey and Marylee Davis, brother Sandford Wright and Grant Wright, brother in law James Spivey, nephews Fredrick Thurmond Spivey and George Thomas, and Guy Bayliss. Albert will be sadly missed by his nieces Bernadine M. Spivey, Claudette K. Thomas, and Janice D. Fowler. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.
