Florence Dorthy Mims

Florence Dorthy Mims was born in Lillooet, British Columbia and departed for the Happy Hunting Ground at the age of 85.

A source of strength, wisdom, and love to all who knew her, Florence was a woman of many gifts and talents. While she loved to read novels, it was her daily newspaper that remained at the top of her list, which she read from cover to cover. She also enjoyed watching classic movies, and  documentaries about far away lands and cultures; together with her adult daughters, she traveled to many of those same lands. Even her cooking reflected her talent and curiosity about the world. Besides her family, one of her greatest loves was music, which also displayed her diverse tastes. She was a deeply faithful Catholic woman who took pleasure in engaging in the sacraments of her faith; and, who gained lifelong comfort both from her relationship with the Holy Mother, Mary, and from cultural ties.

Florence was predeceased by husband Jim Mims; son Jaime Villalobos; parents Felix and Minnie Saul; brother Hank Thevarge; sister Cora Diablo; and other beloved family members. She is survived by daughter Dulce Villalobos and her husband Peter Sutherland; daughter Cara Mia Villalobos and her husband Rich Powers; grand-daughters Olivia and Ariana Sutherland; brothers Bill and Ben Machell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

The family expresses gratitude to everyone who helped to fill Florence's life with love, support, and care.
