LeRoy Cytracek Obituary

Le Roy K. Cytracek
1932-2018

LeRoy was born in St. Paul Mn. August 20, 1932 and moved with his family to Seattle in 1941
He was the oldest of 5 children  born to Emil F. Cytracek and Agnes B. Tandecki (Both deceased)
He was raised primarily by a single mother from his early teens.
Le Roy was preceded in death by his sister Bibiana M. Kuhn and brother Le Moine A. Cytracek (Debbie)
He is survived by his sisters Delores M, Sullivan ( Andy) and Cynthia C. Sullivan (John).
and  a large number of nieces & nephews,  both real and honorary who called him "unk"
Le Roy had many cousins from both the Tandecki & Cytracek sides of the family...and many good friends who felt like family...He was more than a friend to the Sullivans...They considered him family.
Le Roy lived the greater part of his life in Seattle before he moved to Renton after retirement and lived there until his death on Oct.19, 2018
After arriving in  Seattle in 1941 he attended St. Joseph's school in Seattle, then O'Dea High and did a short stint studying engineering at the U.W.
Le Roy greatly enjoyed sports, especially playing baseball while in school and fastpitch later as an adult. His was most proficient as a catcher and this was his most consistent position...He stood out as a batter and was an all- around good athlete.
One of his earliest jobs was driving truck for United Parcel Service.
He was a member of Teamsters Local #174 for two years before being drafted into the U.S. Army Dec.1952-1954.  After the army he returned to driving truck as a Teamster until he was  given the opportunity to join an apprenticeship program with the  Plumbers & Pipefitters local  #32. This eventually led to his becoming one of the best commercial plumbers around,.
Still he found time for his greatest passions , hunting & fishing which he did as long as he was able.  Family fishing trips were big for a while. And although there were many other family members in his earlier years,  his usual hunting partners included  Andy, Dan, John  and Scott Sullivan..He also had a commercial fishing license & owned a Boat (Bachelor's Queen)  with his partner & friend Dan Sullivan for a number of years before eventually going on his own.  He was alternately and affectionately called "Bigfoot,"  "The Professor and sometimes even "The Big Fisherman"...all of which seemed to fit.
LeRoy was a good friend and neighbor to all, a good listener and multi-talented when it came to fixing things.  He fixed  many things for many people as long as he was still able to do it.
He will be missed as brother, uncle, cousin and most of all friend .

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
