Nene (Leonie) passed away peacefully on Friday, May 26, 2017 at home with her husband Romy, of more than 50 years, by her side. Born in Binan, Laguna, Philippines on January 17, 1946 to Epifanio Leonor and Purificacion Alon, she married Romeo Tibayan on January 22, 1967. She went to Manuel Quezon University to get her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Romy immigrated to the US on September 8, 1968. Soon thereafter, Nene followed him with sons Archie and Lambert in 1970. She worked hard to help her parents and other siblings back home. Knowing that helping them would be a lifetime commitment, she and her husband, decided to petition them all to be in America. She worked at Hays Merchandise, Pemco Insurance, then Boeing Commercial for for almost 14 years and retired in 2002. She enjoyed cooking and inviting friends and family over most of the time. She loved fishing, bowling, and horse racing. Towards the end, going on cruises became her final passion to see the world and visit and bond with close high school friends and relatives.
Nene is survived by husband Romy, sons Archie and Lambert, granddaughters Geline and Jenny, and great grandson Gabe and great granddaughter Michelle, sisters Teodora Casulucan, Cresencia Yambao, brothers Dionisio, Alberto, Policarpio, Sesinando and Florencio.
