Mary Barber Obituary

Mary Barber passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 31, 2018 at the age of 95.

Mary was born to parents Clementina and Santo Rizzo on July 18, 1922 in Seattle. Mary was the oldest of 4 children. She was a lifelong resident of Beacon Hill.

Mary spent many years as a clerk at Albertson’s in Rainier Valley. She enjoyed her work, especially the interactions with all her regular customers and fellow employees. Mary spoke fondly of those days.

In later years, she and her husband Jack travelled extensively, especially to visit family.

Mary was a long time member of the American Legion and very active in the Seattle lodge of the Sons of Italy

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jack in 2008, her brother Bob and sister Rose.

Mary is survived by her son Bob (Debbie) of Saco, ME, grandson Mike (Shannon) of Wells, ME, grandson Jason (Christina) of Dayton. Also great-grandchildren Lauren, Jonathan, Ava and Chloe. Also her brother Carlo and nieces and nephews.

Honoring Mary’s wishes, private services were held.
