Mrs. Chan Leung Qwai Yiu was born in Guangdong province, China in 1918. She passed away peacefully on January 19, 2018 at the age of 99. She had 3 older sisters and 1 younger brother. Mrs. Chan was very active in her young age. Specifically, she liked dancing and horseback riding. And she was good with those too. She graduated from one of the most famous universities in China, namely, the Zhongshan University in Guangdong with a degree in law. She could talk and present herself brilliantly in debates and social activities. That could be one of the reasons why she was such a good lawyer.
Mrs. Chan met her significant other during her university years, another law major student, Mr. Chan Sik Hon. They married soon after their graduation from the university. Their marriage gave them 4 wonderful children: Diane, Nancy, Joe and Kathy.
During her 99 years, she spent the early years in Guangzhou, China. Because of the war in China, she moved to Hong Kong with her family and subsequently migrated to the US.
Mrs. Chan was a devoted catholic since her baptism in Hong Kong years ago. She taught her children the importance of having a good and supportive family. As a result, her 4 children gave her 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was always nice and friendly to her friends and relatives. And she demanded her children to be the same way.
With God’s grace, Mrs. Chan had a wonderful 99 years.
