Barks, Theresa Eleanor (nee Krueger)

Born: April 17, 1938, the Daughter of Carl H. Krueger, and his wife, Lena Justina (nee Guyotte).  Theresa became a child of God, receiving the Grace of God in her Baptism, and then publicly confessing her faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and committing herself to the Triune God in her Confirmation at Christ Lutheran Church, River Rouge MI.

Theresa graduated from River Rouge High School and immediately began her industrious work history – always a dedicated and dependable worker and union member, wherever employed – mostly as a cashier in a variety of supermarkets in the states where her family lived:  MI, OH, CT, and WA.  Even with challenging work schedules, Theresa always put her Family first, providing care, direction and support for her Daughters, providing them with the example of courage and proving one's conviction by action.  Besides work and Family, Theresa enjoyed dancing, stitchery, quilting, crochet, canning, and gardening and hosting seasonal gatherings (egg hunts and harvest parties) for her grandchildren. Theresa was always a good neighbor, establishing lasting friendships everywhere she and her Family lived.  Theresa  always chose a Lutheran Church in which to worship, attend Bible study, educate her Children in the Christian Faith, and to volunteer for many activities whose purpose was to help to others.  Theresa is remembered for her faith, her unbounded energy, her courage, her tenacious character, and her sense of social justice.

Theresa said that the happiest times of her life were with her husband, Harold Barks, who preceded her into Eternity.  After a courageous struggle with Parkinson's, Theresa entered Eternity, assured of her salvation in Christ, on January 2, 2017

Theresa is survived by her Daughters: Justina, Carol (and Carol's husband Earl), Janet (and Janet's husband Stephan), and Judy;  her six Grandchildren: Marek, Bridgette, Carolina, Danielle, Leelund and Delaney; her four Great-grandchildren: Titus, Rocky, Kayden and Wyatt; her Sisters: Mary Halstead, Ruth Valley, and Bertha Spaiser; and her Brothers: Carl Krueger and Henry Krueger.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10a.m. Saturday January 7th, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, 329 Avenue A, Snohomish WA.  There will be a reception at the church following the service and inurnment will follow the reception at the Zion Lutheran cemetery in Snohomish.  If you prefer, in lieu of flowers, the Family encourages donations to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML), the Washington Parkinson's Foundation, or Klein Galland Hospice.
