Alice Prokopof Ray, of West Seattle, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022. We have lost a wife, sister, aunt and friend.
Alice was born in Philadelphia, PA, on February 25,1947 to Joe and Betty Prokopof. She began her career as a flight attendant with Hughes Airwest and retired with Delta. Alice spent 35 years seeing the world. She loved what she did and everyone loved working with her. Alice settled in Seattle, where she met Ron Ray, who she adored. They were married and spent 40 years together living in West Seattle.
Alice was kind and considerate and found the good in all humankind. She was generous almost to a fault and was always looking out for those less fortunate than her. The canopy created by the trees around their backyard deck was where she would go to find her solace. And, Alice still believed if we had voted for Bernie instead of Hillary, we would not be where we are today.
Alice is predeceased by her parents and sister, Sonya Kelly, and brother, Phil Oziminski. She is survived by the many people who loved her: her husband, Ron Ray; sister BJ Prokopof and her partner Karen Spino; nieces and nephews.
Alice loved animals, and if there was a stray in the neighborhood they would find her. Any remembrances can be made to Emerald City Pet Rescue. A small gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate Alice’s life this summer under her canopy.
