Our father Bao Truong left this world peacefully on May 13, 2022 at the age of 80. He was born in Tra Vinh, a small beautiful town in the Mekong Delta region of Southern Vietnam. As a child he loved spending time with his grandfather at his ancestral village in Guangdong China. On summer breaks there he would swim in a mountain pond and eat fresh lychee plucked from a branch overhanging the water. Later in life he escaped Vietnam in search of a better life for his family and eventually relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana. During his golden years, Bao loved playing Chinese Chess, spoiling his grandchildren, and dining at all of the tasty food vendors in Seattle’s International District. Bao was a dutiful eldest son, brother, and father who always took care of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Kiem Truong and Vinh Tu, and his sons Don and Richard Truong. He is survived by his wife, Thai Quan Truong, two sons, Alex (Yan) of Seattle, and Tony (Nguyet Ly) of Everett. He leaves behind four grandchildren: Bella, Noelle, Penny, and Luna Truong. His five remaining siblings include: Lien, Tai, Binh, Minh, and Mang Truong. Everyone is welcome to come honor our father. A visitation and Buddhist service will be held on Thursday, May 19 from 10:30am to 12:30 at Columbia Funeral Home & Crematory, 4567 Rainier Ave S, Seattle, WA 98118.
