Betty Aquino Deloy

Betty Aquino Deloy, beloved wife and loving mother, peacefully passed away at 10:05 AM on January 26, 2021, in her own home on Beacon Hill, Seattle, with her husband and three adult sons at her bedside. Betty was 71 years young - her birthday only 19 days away.

Betty was born on February 14, 1949, Valentine’s Day, in Dingras, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Ceferino and Victoria Aquino. In 1969, she completed a Two-Year Course in Secretarial Science from Divine Word College of Laoag, in Laoag City, Philippines. In 1981, she immigrated from the Philippines to the United States of America. Betty married on January 5, 1983, and had three sons. She worked as a culinary expert and mentor for 32 years at Harborview Medical Center and retired in 2016.

Betty was first and foremost a loving mother and spent most of her free time with her family. She was a devout Catholic and attended weekly Mass at St. Peter Parish. She enjoyed watching various Filipino shows on TV, colorful Indian musicals/movies on Netflix, and heartfelt videos about the Philippines on YouTube. She cared for many indoor plants, had an outdoor vegetable garden, raised a dog named Pogy, and had a few backyard chickens. She enjoyed the pizzaz of casino slot machines. Throughout her life, she travelled with family to various places around the United States and Asia by air and by roadtrip. She had wished to travel Europe.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Ceferino; her mother, Victoria; and her brother, Manuel. Betty is survived by her husband, Rolando Sr.; her sons, Rolando Jr., Ceferino, and Christopher; and her sisters, Brenda, Maria-Victoria, and Evelyn.

Betty’s viewing will be held at Columbia Funeral Home Chapel on February 3, 2021, at 2 PM. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter Parish on February 4, 2021, at 10:30 AM. Burial will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery proceeding Mass, ~12 noon.
