CARL WESLEY SIMS
Sunrise Sunset
November 18, 1944 – April 18, 2018
Wesley was born to the parents of Felton and Hildred Sims on November 18, 1943, in Seattle, Washington. At an early age, Wesley was baptized and became a member of First A.M.E Church in Seattle.
During his school years, Wesley attended Garfield High School, and developed many friendships that lasted throughout his lifetime. He continued to meet with good friends for breakfast or lunch on a regular basis.
Wesley met and married the love of his life, Linda, and daughters Ginger, Angela, and son Jason were born to their union.
Wes was well-liked on his job and was a union representative for several years. As a young father, he was a fair baseball umpire during the organized baseball games, to the delight of the children. He was also an avid football fan and enjoyed coaching the youngsters with best friend and brother-in-law, Fred Eastland. Wes possessed a great sense of humor and all the kids loved being teased by Uncle Wes.
Wesley leaves to cherish his memory: daughters Erin (Ginger) Street, Angela Harris, and son Jason Sims; and 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Robert Sims, sisters Norma Hall-Donaldson, Gloria Eastland, and Sandra Sims, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. We are grateful for Wesley’s life and impact on us all. Thank you to everyone for your prayers, cards and warm wishes. At this time the family of Mr. Sims is planning private services.
