David Stenwall Obituary

David Theodore Stenwall, 95, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2022 in Seattle, Washington. Born and raised in Rockford, Illinois he moved to Seattle in 2017. Born July 4th, 1926, he was the son of Oscar and Victoria (Bergstrom) Stenwall. He was married to Virginia Stenwall on January 15, 1950. They raised two children: Mark Stenwall (Seattle, WA) and Jessica (Kim) Stenwall (Bloomington, IL). He is survived by 3 granddaughters, three grandsons, three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Dave worked in sales all his life, first in his family card shop in downtown Rockford, then for Golblatt’s Department Store and finally for Bergner’s Department Store before retiring. Dave was a gentle, kind soul that will be greatly missed by all who knew him. There will be a small Celebration of Life ceremony on May 7th at the Staybridge Suites in Rockford at 11AM. He will be laid to rest with his wife and family at the Scandinavian Cemetery.
