Donna Rae Green

Donna Rae Green passed away peacefully on September 22, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Nebraska in 1934, during the dust bowl. Her family moved to Hamilton, Washington shortly thereafter, in search of a more fruitful life.  Donna grew up in a logging community alongside her brother Richard (Dick) Davis and her parents Bernard and Clarice (Huston) Davis, where she had many extended relatives, farm animals, a horse, and dogs. She kept busy with school and worked in bulb fields in the Skagit Valley. She attended the University of Washington, where she met her husband, Willard Green.  After marrying in 1954, Donna worked for Boeing until they started a family. In the early 80’s she and Will started their own shipping agency, Green Ocean Agencies. Meanwhile they built their timeless and forever home above Lincoln Park in West Seattle, raising their three daughters. Donna was a gardener and if you had had the pleasure of visiting her home, you would believe she was also a master landscape designer. She kept her home and yard immaculate all year round.  In addition, Donna spent 50 + years in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority with her sorority sisters who became lifelong friends of the Green family. Donna and Will built a summer home on Hood Canal with hard work and a lot of fun with friends, sorority and family. Donna is survived by her three daughters Ann (John), Karen (Julia), Sue (Tom) and granddaughter Kelsey (Wyatt) and brother Dick Davis.  Her life is remembered by her laughter, deep seeded love for family, and strong family traditions.  She will forever live in the hearts of those that loved her.

There will be a viewing at the Columbia Funeral Home - 4567 Rainier Ave S. Sea WA 98118 on Thursday, 10/14/21 from 10am – 2pm.

There will be private/family gathering for Graveside Services at Lakeview Cemetery in Seattle on Capitol Hill on Friday, 10/15/21 @ 11:00am. 

We are having a Celebration of Life Event in November to be announced when plans are finalized.
