Elson Echon Obituary

Elson Ebalo Echon was called to eternal rest on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the age of 82.

Elson was born in Candelaria, Zambales, Philippines on February 3, 1938.  He immigrated to Guam with his wife, Florenda, in 1969, where they lived until they moved to Washington State in 2015.

Elson loved working outside in the yard, and was especially fond of growing vegetables in his garden.  He enjoyed watching westerns, taking photos, and traveling.  He was a man of faith with a very big heart.  He was a devoted family man who loved his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and brother and sisters as well as their spouses – most of all he was very much in love with his wife, Florenda, to whom he was married to for 50 years.

There was nothing more Elson savored than spending time with all those he loved.

Elson is survived by his wife, Florenda; his three children: Irene, Rita, and Emmeline; four grandchildren: Sheridan, Sabine, Luka, and Mila.  He is also survived by his siblings: Concordia, Helena, Orlina with husband Alfeo, Novina who is predeceased by her husband Jun, Manuel with wife Cathy, Asiatica with husband Rodolfo, Rosalinda with husband Pete, Islanda with husband Herman, and Aniceta who is predeceased by husband Gary.  Elson is also survived by Florenda’s siblings: Linda who is predeceased by her husband Roberto, Wilfredo, Imelda with husband Rudy, Adelaida, and Lutgarda with her husband Richard.

Elson is predeceased by his parents, Mauricio and Maria Filomena Echon; and in-laws: Zenaida, Ambrosio, Virgilio who is survived by his wife Amparo, and Conrado.
