Obituary

Faith Lynch Valdivia (Faith Louise Kinnie) 85 passed peacefully in her sleep with her rosary in hand on March 12, 2023, at the home she shared with her granddaughter Kristen Faith Valdivia in Lake Stevens, Washington.

Faith was born March 18, 1937, in Los Angeles California. She graduated from St. Monica’s High School in 1955 and earned her Bachelor’s Degree at the age of 69. She began taking classes towards her Master’s with a goal of teaching online business courses.

Faith met the love of her life, Alejandro Valdivia, while working for Douglas Aircraft when one day by chance their shifts overlapped. They married on May 12, 1956, and lived most of their life together in Santa Monica, CA, relocating to Seattle in 1981. Together, they were blessed with ten children Rose, Andrew, Mark, Paul, Ruth, Kathleen, Sandra, Donna, Rebecca and Anna.

At an early age, Faith converted to Catholicism and devoted her life to The Lord, her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Ladies of Columbus; she sang in the Church choir and was very active within the community.  Faith enjoyed reading books, playing the piano and guitar, sewing (esp. making flower girl dresses), and knitting. Faith was a proud small business owner providing accounting, consulting and taxation services to small business owners.

Faith is preceded in death by her husband Alejandro, mother Mary, grandmother Mary and brother Patrick. She is survived by her sister Mary Gessler, her children: Rose (Rick), Andrew (Carol), Mark, Paul (Elena), Ruth, Kathleen (Dean), Sandra (Rob deceased), Donna (Bobby), Rebecca (Ice), Anna, Diane and Chris.  Grandchildren: Kristen, Megan, Allison (Brady), Shannon, Josh (Nicki), Amber (Sean) , Justin, Alexis (Antonio), Grant, Elise (Bronson), Isabella, Marissa, Asiamarie, Cheyenne, Kaitlyn, Malcolm, Delvaughn, Max and  Theresa; Great Grandchildren: Ashlei, Jakob, Nolan, Broxton, Donovan, Hannah, Luke, Rivers, Skyla, Colt, Mila, Dean, Malique, Layla, Veronika and Gabe.  Great Great Grandchildren: Trevor, Saylor, King, and Alayah (on the way). She is also survived by many others who considered her a mother and grandmother as well as her cuddly companion Kobe.

Vigil Rosary service will be held on Tues, March 21 at 7pm at Christ the King Catholic Church in North Seattle. Funeral Mass will be held on Wed, March 22 at 10am also at Christ the King.

In lieu of flowers remembrances can be made to catholiccharitiesusa.org
