Joette Lynn was born to Louie and Jane Mitzel on December 21, 1960. Joette was a great early Christmas present for us all. Right from the beginning Joette was always happy, always smiling. At six months she had a very high fever which sent her into convulsions and caused brain damage. That did not stop her from being happy and a delight to all of us - mom, dad, brothers, and sisters. When Joette was nine, she needed more care than we could provide so Joette was placed in Yakima Valley school where she thrived. She loved getting visitors, especially men, being taken outside in her wheelchair and fed ice cream. Joette was a favorite of the staff at YVS and received great care. One of the nurses even named her daughter after Joette. Her health started failing and she got progressively worse. She died October 15, 2020. Joette is now with Mom and Dad. Rest in peace Jojo - all your family loves you.
