Lisa Dawn Hernandez passed away on June 21, 2021.
Lisa was born September 12, 1990, to Francisco Hernandez and Brigitte Bouvier, in Anchorage Alaska.
Lisa spent her early years in Fairbanks and Anchorage, attending Denali, Nordale, Gladys Wood, and Chinook elementary schools. In 2001, Lisa moved with her mother to Tacoma Washington where she attended Whittier Elementary, Jason Lee Middle School, and Foss High School. After high school she moved to Seattle where she worked various warehouse and service jobs while taking courses at Seattle Colleges in pursuit of a degree in social work. Her desire was to become a social worker to help people with mental health and addiction issues.
Lisa always pulled for the underdog. She had a big heart and a giving nature, she was the person her friends counted on for help; whether it was bringing food for get-togethers, some cash, or providing a place to stay in a pinch. Adjectives that describe Lisa: creative, caring, passionate, stubborn, strong-willed. Lisa doted on her niece Trinity and nephew Shane, buying them gifts and calling them often. She was very interested in her family history and in connecting with her far-flung family, from Alaska to California to Texas to Connecticut to Chicago and Wisconsin, from Omaha to Austin, from Las Vegas to Tucson to Sierra Vista.
Lisa was predeceased by her grandfather Francisco Hernandez Sr., and her aunt Elizabeth Hernandez. She is survived by her parents Francisco and Brigitte, grandmother Armida Hernandez of El Paso Texas, sister Amber Hernandez of Fairbanks, niece Trinity Ante of Fairbanks, and nephew Shane Ante Jr. of Fairbanks. She is also survived by her aunts Linda Russo of Connecticut, Patricia Hernandez of El Paso, and Teresa Chavira (Manuel) of El Paso; uncles Alfred Hernandez of El Paso, Hector Hernandez of El Paso, and Joseph Hernandez (Evelyn) of Austin Texas. Survived by cousins Marrissa Russo, Jennifer Evans, Jesus Rodriguez (Alina), Geoffrey Hernandez, Jason Michael (Diana), Brian Michael (Vanessa), Steve Hutchison (Kirsten), Sean Hutchison (Meghan), Alyssa Chavira, Jacob Chavira, and Ava Hernandez.
Lisa will be interred at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in El Paso Texas, near her aunt Elizabeth and her grandfather Frank Sr.
A celebration of life for Lisa will take place in the future.
