On behalf of our family, we thank everyone for your unconditional love and support as we mourn the loss of our dear Nakry Srey.
Nakry is survived by her parents, Sang Srey and Kat Tep, along with her brother and sister, Sarum Srey and Phearun Srey. She met her husband, Chandoun Srey, in Battambang, Cambodia, in 1974, had their firstborn son, Steven Srey, in 1997, and raised Vuthay Srey and Chanthan Srey as their own. Her grandchildren, whom she adores, are Charvy Srey and Gavin Saechao.
Nakry was born in Battambangu, Cambodia, on February 1st, 1960. If you knew her like family and friends did, we all knew her to be sweet, kind-hearted, funny, loving, and always going above and beyond to provide for her family emotionally and physically. She worked at King 5 News as a Janitor for 18 years and never complained about the work she needed to do to ensure the house was cared for, and everyone was happy.
Nakry valued her time with family and friends. She loved spoiling her family with gifts just to see the joy on their faces and cooking them home-cooked meals. She cherished the family coming together. If she was not spending time with her family, she was either in the backyard gardening, kitchen cooking, shopping, or singing karaoke and dancing in the living room.
Nakry had such beautiful qualities, and that smile of hers was contagious. She loved making people laugh, and she loved to laugh herself and has a great sense of humor. She was the best wife, mom, grandma, auntie, and friend.
Nakry will be forever in our hearts and memory. This is only a temporary pause. We cannot wait until the day we get to see her again.
