Nicole Octavia Fowler, lovingly known as Da Princess all day, was born on July 18, 1987, in Evergreen, IL, Cook County at the Little Mary Company Hospital. On June 19, 2023, she peacefully left this world in Seattle, WA, surrounded by her loving family as she embarked on her eternal journey. Nicole was the cherished daughter of Janice Fowler and Herbert Fowler, and she brought immeasurable joy to their lives.
Growing up in a close-knit Catholic community, Nicole was a strong-minded and hardworking individual who thrived amidst the love and support of her family. She shared a special bond with her brothers, Michael Johnson and Corey Spivey, and her sisters, Bernadette Fowler and Enjoli Fowler. Her aunts, Bernadine Spivey and Claudette Thomas, played an important role in shaping her upbringing, instilling in her a strong sense of faith that guided her throughout her life.
Nicole's educational journey began at Saint Margaret of Scotland Catholic School in Chicago, IL. In 1998, she moved to Seattle, where she continued her studies at Madrona Elementary, the African-American Academy, and Saint Edward Catholic School. For high school, she attended John F. Kennedy, where she was a valued member of the Track team, forming lasting friendships and embracing new experiences.
In her professional life, Nicole held positions in the food industry as a Manager in North Seattle, Washington, and also worked at Seattle Parks and Recreation. Her caring nature and love for others shone through in her work. Nicole was always looking out for those who were less fortunate, offering her support and compassion without judgment. She had a vibrant and infectious personality that made her the life of every party, and her unique fashion sense was undeniable.
Nicole had big dreams and aspired to become an attorney. She was a staunch advocate for justice, never shying away from standing up for what she believed in. Her determination and unwavering support for others earned her the admiration and respect of those around her. She was a true go-getter.
Family was at the core of Nicole's being. She adored her total of 13 nephews and nieces, and she made it a priority to celebrate their birthdays and holidays with them. Nicole's unwavering support extended to every family event, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of her loved ones.
Known as DaPrincess, Nicole was the life of the party, and anyone who met her always felt loved, welcome, and had fun! Her spirit, compassion, and unique sense of style will forever be remembered by her cousins, aunt, and extended family. Nicole's absence will be deeply felt, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
As we mourn the loss of Nicole, we also celebrate the legacy she leaves behind. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her family find solace in the precious moments shared with Nicole during her time on Earth. She will be resting next to her Great Uncle Albert Wright and partying in paradise with her father Herbert Fowler and Uncle Frederick Spivey.
