Paz Galias Estrella

Paz Galias Estrella passed away on January 24, 2022, after a brief illness. She was 89 years old. Paz was brought into this world on July 16, 1932, to Enrique and Gregoria Sevilla Galias in Irosin, Sorsogon Philippines. Paz was the mother of nine children, 28 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. A lifelong homemaker and “Nanay” to all. Paz was a dedicated member of the prayer group called El Shaddai before migrating to Seattle, Washington.

Despite her large family, Paz always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. She and her husband Severino Estrella Sr.  worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids. She would proudly boast about how many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she and her husband Severino Sr. have established. Being a mother was one of the most important parts of Paz’s life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. Family came first and was above all else to Paz, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. We will miss our Nanay Paz dearly.

Paz was predeceased by parents and her husband of over 60 years Severino Abril Estrella Sr. She survived by her nine children, 28 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

We mourn the loss of our grandmother and encourage all who knew her to remember the beauty she brought to this world. Funeral Viewing will be held at 3-7 PM on February 18, 2022, at Columbia Funeral Home and Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on February 19, 2022, at St. Bernadette Parish.
