Sandra was born on November 27,1942 in Renton, Washington. As a small child, Sandra lived on Bainbridge Island before moving to Seattle where she remained the rest of her life. She graduated from Franklin High School and went on to attend college at Seattle Pacific University earning a degree in education. She was actively involved in the theater program at both Franklin and Seattle Pacific.
Sandra’s career spanned over 30 years teaching in the Seattle School District, Highline School District and at Tilden School in West Seattle. She taught several grades and was also an elementary librarian. She had a strong passion and dedication toward teaching children. Her classroom was always full of love and she made learning come to life for her students.
Sandra served on many committees throughout her life. She was a board member at Arbor Heights Swim and Tennis Club where she helped run the swim, tennis and dive teams. She joined committees at The Stillaguamish Country Club and Holy Family Catholic Church. Sandra enjoyed working with people and giving back to her community.
Sandra was a loving mother to her two children Anthony and Melissa. She spent countless hours attending her children’s school and sporting events. You could always find her in the stands cheering them on at swim meets. She would do the same thing as a grandmother years later. She loved her grandchildren dearly, and would drop everything to spend time with them. Sandra made countless trips all over the country to visit her daughter and grandchildren.
Sandra’s warmth and compassion drew people to her. She had many life-long friends. A fixture in her community, a rock for her family, and a bright light for all who knew her, Sandra will be missed dearly.

Sandra was passionate about both charities because of the personal impact they have had on her family.
