Trisha Sanidad Obituary

Trisha (Tia) VanGaver-Sanidad passed away on June 25,2021 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Tia was born on August 10, 1966 in Seattle to proud parents, Patricia Murphy VanGaver and Jeffrey VanGaver.

She grew up in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle.  She attended Saint George’s School, Holy Names Academy, Seattle Central Community College, then University of Washington.

Her professional career was at Metlife and Mainspring Wealth Advisors in Bellevue Washington.  She enjoyed working with her colleagues, always noting that she worked with wonderful people. They all were part of her family.

Tia loved watching sports.  She loved routing for her beloved University of Washington Football Huskies, the Seattle Seahawks, and the Seattle Mariners.  She especially loved watching her two boys play sports where you could hear her booming voice in the stands shouting “Let’s go baby!!” and “that’s my Zachy!” or “that’s my Drewbaby!”

She enjoyed hanging out with family and friends laughing and having a good time with some nice wine or Barcadi and DC.

She loved going out but equally enjoyed having a quiet evening at home with her husband Raul, watching TV and many movies including her favorites, It’s A Wonderful Life and Casablanca.

Tia was a very selfless person who always put others’ needs above hers.  She had a big heart, a great smile, and heavenly laugh that you could feel deep in your heart.  She was a very strong lady, putting on a brave face as so others around her would focus on all that is good in life, and not this terrible disease.  The world was a better place with her in it, and you were a better person if you had the privilege of knowing her.

It can’t be emphasized that she loved her family so much, especially her two boys who she so fondly adored.

It is with great comfort to her family that she is now resting in peace.

Tia is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Murphy VanGaver.  She is survived by her father, Jeffrey VanGaver, her older sister Bambi VanGaver, her younger brother, Franny VanGaver (Paula), her younger sister Jennifer Gonio (Rey), her husband Raul, her two sons Zachary (20) and Drew (17), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Services to be held Saturday July 10th 11am at Saint George’s Parish, 5117 13th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98108.
