So sorry about Betty's passing. Did not know about it until now in December 2016 as I was trying to phone ther o send a Xmas card. She was a lovely person, very resourceful, innovative, and kind. a student I knew as her counselor and friend. I will miss her very much. I hope and pray that Tanya and all the family are doing well, sad to be without Betty.

I am shocked to hear of Miss. Betty's passing. She was always one of my favorites to see at the Rainier Beach Pool for swim aerobics. Her smile and kindness will be missed forever.

I had the good fortune of meeting Betty in about 1965 when desegregation began at B.F. Day. We became fast friends and I fondly remember going to her house to play. The opportunity of our friendship had a profound and lasting effect on me. We went all through school together, so I was able to enjoy her kind and friendly nature for many years. After high school, we lost touch as many do. I remember being so happy to see her at the 20 year reunion but unfortunately, she did not attend the next ones. I had recently found her and made contact on Facebook, but the sad news of her passing came before we were able to reconnect. I am so glad to know that she was able to realize her dreams and lived the rewarding life of the kind and compassionate person she always was. Her lovely daughter is fortunate to have been raised by Betty. Thank you for posting all these photos of her. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss.

Condolences to the Lowe family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, "heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds." May God bring you comfort and peace.

Betty made friends wherever she went. I met her many years ago when we were both students at Seattle Central. She was kind, thoughtful, intelligent and oh so proud of her daughter's accomplishments(rightfully so). Betty was a joy...my deepest condolences to her family. Betty made Seattle feel warm and welcoming all-year long. She will be missed.

You will really be missed , my dear Betty . I was fortunate to have heard your voice again when I greeted you on your birthday last May 26.
I will forever remember our conversations and jokes. Betty and I had been friends throughout the years. I met her at Aki Kurose Middle School where I have worked before. She always exudes passion, has vibrant energy and a positive attitude towards peers, colleagues and students. One thing that I admire in her is her cultural competency and sensitivity. She adapts easily in every situation but stands up
for what is right. May you continue to let your light shine as you are now in peace with the Lord!

Love ,
Grace Saturnino

Miss Betty will be missed by all of us. She always apologized for missing water aerobics or an advisory council meeting even though she was taking care of her mother who had been ill. Betty was always willing to help, always had a smile on her face and frequently brought the staff something delicious that she had baked. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this difficult time.

Betty and I are cousins. My father (CJ) and her mother (Irma) are first cousins. Betty was always so friendly toward me and my brothers when we came to Seattle to visit. I remember lots of good food and loud, laugh-filled conversations (mostly from the grown ups). Betty, Diane and I hung out upstairs and talked about 'girl stuff'. It was like having sisters, if only for the weekend. I miss you both. Rest in peace.

I met Betty through the Seattle Schools also. We often worked with the same students. Miss Betty, as her students called her, knew she not only had the right skills to help them, but also applied the correct balance of love and discipline. They will miss her. Even though I have retired, Betty and I continued our friendship, regularly enjoying water exercise at RB pool. Recently she invited me to participate in the Community Kitchens program . Cause Miss Betty loved to cook for folks. Ask anyone who has tasted her famous pound cake!
Betty, I love you and I miss you!!

I, along with my wife, met our dear friend during a short visit to Seattle to watch a football game. I truly thank God for the opportunity to meeting such a sweet lady. After being around her for such a brief moment, it felt as though we have known her for years. Our plan was to pay for her flight to Charleston, SC in December, but God wanted her to be with Him instead. Rest In Peace my dear friend. Danny B & Minister Sonya Buncum will never forget you!!!
Through it all GOD IS STILL GOOD !!!

Betty was kind and her laugh made us smile. We enjoyed the party she had for Irma, the best quote was "I only have to say I'm cooking fried chicken and baking a cake"! Betty was a hard worker and loved her family. She is missed.
