Irene Rae Smith

Born July 11, 1930 in Oregon, Irene passed away suddenly on September 21, 2016. She was a most exemplary and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. With never wavering kindness and compassion she was a great comfort to all that knew her. Irene had lifelong passion for helping those in need and leaves a legacy of service that has inspired us all. This is best captured by a service award to her from the Society of St Vincent de Paul "...leading women and men to join together to grow spiritually through person-to-person service to the needy and suffering."

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Richard Smith, daughter Eileen Franz (Bruce), sons Gary Smith (Cyndi) and Paul Smith (Karen Cerosaletti). She was especially devoted to her 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, who brought her much joy. She was recently preceded in death by son Thomas Smith and daughter Debbie Sabel.

Her family wishes to thank the staff of Aegis of Redmond for their exceptional and loving care the past three years.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Edwards Parish church on Saturday, October 1 at 11:00 AM. with reception to follow in the parish hall. Address: 4212 S Mead St, Seattle, WA 98118.
