I worked with Nancy at DCDHS. She was the social worker I hoped I would become one day. She was so kind to everyone. I am so sorry to hear of her passing.

Jim and Family, I'm sorry I did not post something earlier upon hearing of Nancy's passing. She was a rare treasure......a diamond in the rough and despite the multitude of awards she was the recipient of, she lived a very humble life. Rob and Lacey enjoyed working with her in Mexico. It's interesting how lives can entwine.....Nancy's family is from Aurora, IL. That is where I am from. I was born on September 8 and Nancy went home to Heaven to join our Lord on the same date. Nancy started JFF and now Lacey has her position. Yes, we are connected by the heart and through many other walks of life was as well. Today, Nancy will be recognized by Dane County for the work, life and legacy that she left behind. Her footprints are huge........She was a beautiful example of compassion and love and will be missed by many.

Jesus taught that those in the memorial tombs would be resurrected (John 5:28). We can be assured that loved ones are in Gods memory as Isaiah 40:26 states that God calls the billions of stars by name.

I cannot fully express how much you have touched my life and how hard it is to accept a life without you. But I know that you are resting in the arms of Jesus, who saw you getting tired and said "Well done my faithful servant, your work on earth is done" and took you home. How can any of us deny you that. So with a heavy heart and a missing that will never go away I bid you a sad and final goodbye. Thank You for the memories. I love you and Thank God for your love and friendship. Izzy

Nancy was a pure soul with unconditional love for all-the true social worker. She taught me, and many others, to look beyond the surface to the soul of those we came into contact with. I know she is at peace and will continue to be an angel in Heaven as she was on Earth. Hoping the love she has for you all will ease your pain...

I worked with Nancy at DCDHS, and then in the planning and the development of JFF services at Broadway-Simpson Neighborhood. That was the highlight of my career. Nancy was so kind and generous and forgiving with us and the families we served. I am proud and fortunate to have worked with her on this innovative and special effort. So sorry to learn of her passing.

So sorry to hear about Nancy's passing. As a former Director of the School of Social Work at UW-Madison I remember Nancy's dedication to providing outstanding supervision to dozens of our students throughout her time at Dane County Human Services. She modeled what a strong, warm and feisty professional can accomplish.

This morning there was an announcement in the obituaries that Nancy Taylor has passed away.
I was honored to work with Nancy in the Stoughton office of DCDHS. She was incredibly bright, forgiving, kind and generous. She never drew attention to herself but always made others feel like they were important and noticed. She was extremely polite. To this day Paula Proctor and I say, "As Nancy would say, "Thanks for driving", as we exit each others cars.
During Nancy's time in Stoughton she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was a champ and never let the disease affect her spirit. I am sorry to know that she finally succumbed to that disease.
May all those that were touched by her kindness pass that kindness on to others.
Rest in Peace.

I worked with Nancy for many years in the Juvenile Justice System. She was one of the very best. The children and families she attended were among the lucky ones. I'm certain that a large part of the success of Joining Families is due to Nancy's involvement. I am so saddened by this word of her passing.

My dear friend Nancy, I miss you but will always hold you close in my heart. For years your golden voice of encouragement, compassion, wisdom and love has blessed the people that have been privileged to have known you. Jim, Becca, Jason, Ben, Ericka, Rachel, Sheela, Serena, Ellen, Dahlia, and Enzo; Nancy loved everyone of you for you and never tired of sharing new joys of your lives in our long phone conversations. I am sorry for your loss. I have great faith Nancy has been embraced by the loving hands of God and is in heaven without pain. An angel now watches over her family from above. God had blessed you with a wife, mother and grandmother of great presence. Hugs for you all Nada

Unforgetable is our special friend Nancy. Sweet, fun, caring, thoughtful. Her family meant everything to her and her presence will be missed so much by them and all her friends. Jim and crew , I am so sorry for your loss. Nancy can live on in us if we take on her way of caring for others as she did. Peace to my treasured friend. Buzzy

I met Nancy and Jim when they joined two of their dear offspring in Seattle, and I will always be thrilled that we had a chance to get acquainted. Nancy and Jim were quietly and calmly friendly and so present, so wise and humble and loving! Nancy was a source of huge encouragement and support as I cared for my husband Gary in his last few of 25 years with early onset Parkinsons Disease, but her participation in our diverse Women's Prayer Group was where I recognized her deep caring for people from all walks of life, her breadth of experience. I had intended to be her appreciative good friend until we were very old ladies together! I must congratulate this darling family for their loving support of each other, and let you know how lovely it is to be in your presence. Nancy loved and participated in life, and that's to be celebrated! Thank you, Darling Nancy!

This is a perfect summary of her life and devotion to others. Thank you for capturing the totality of her life. There was nothing like knowing her and being in the warmth of her wise, quiet ways. I will have to tell you someday, Becca, Jason and Ben, of the privileged position I had of watching your mom do her amazing work. As part of my dissertation, I got to study JFF and her ground-breaking role. She was a wonder...and she built, along with your dad, the strong foundation you each stand on. XOXO
