Ron was born to Alfred Clayton and Edith Miriam (Ulrickson) Haralson, on December 11, 1930, in Dickinson, North Dakota, and passed into eternal rest on July 14, 2015.  At a young age, his family moved to the Pacific Northwest. He attended Franklin High School, where he played football and excelled at math. After graduating in 1948, Ron briefly attended the University of Washington, but remained a life-long Husky.   In May 1951, he enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on March 6, 1952. In June 1955, he met the love of his life, Margaret Foccona, and they married in November of 1955. Ron and Marge settled on Beacon Hill, near both of their families, to share their life together and raise a family.

He started working for The Boeing Company in 1955, and for many years worked as a manager on the Minuteman Missile Project, along with other military projects for the company. He retired in December 1995 after 39 years of service.

Ron and Marge shared a wonderful life together, centered around faith, family and friends.  Their life on Hudson Street has been a blessing beyond words.  They also built the vacation cabin of their dreams, which became the anchor of countless family memories.  Ron was active in coaching many CYO sports,  spent many years serving at St. George Catholic Church in a variety of roles, including serving on the parish council and leading the Teen Club.  Ron and Marge volunteered for CYO Searches, were very involved in Marriage Encounter and later in marriage prep for couples at St. George.  After retirement, Ron enjoyed meeting up with fellow retirees for lunch and golf (and the occasional cigar), and spent many hours volunteering as an administrator for St. Vincent de Paul.

Ron is survived by Marge, his wife of over 59 years, and his three children: Debbie Champigny, Laurie (Laurel) Cuaresma, and Stan (Candace) Haralson. He is also survived by his sister, Dolores (Dee) Lightfoot.   He has 8 grandchildren: Matthew (Amanda Soto) Cuaresma, Cecilia Cuaresma, Stephanie (Max) Frisch, Jason Champigny, Zachary Cuaresma, Monica Cuaresma, Andrew Champigny and Thomas Haralson. He has 2.5 great-grandchildren: Taelynn Champigny, Aileah Cuaresma and her brother, a great-grandson on the way.

A mass to celebrate Ron’s life will be held at St. George Catholic Church in Seattle, on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. There will be a reception to follow.

If one wishes, memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul.

Military honors will be accorded at Tahoma National cemetery on Thursday, August 13th at 11AM.
